If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans 12:18 New International Version)
See that you be at peace
And love one another.
Follow the example of the wise and the good,
And God will comfort you,
Both in this world and in the world which is to come.
Based on Saint Columba's deathbed blessing to his community and used by Northumbria Community in this form (with the addition of 'and help you' in the fifth line).
Saint Columba (d:597) was an Irish abbot and missionary Evangelist credited with spreading Christianity in what is today Scotland. He founded the abbey on Iona where Saint Aidan of Lindisfarne lived as a monk before coming to the Island, and where King Oswald of Bamburgh was exiled as a child.
