INSTALLATION ISSUE:

Some users have reported an issue where the installer connects over the internet and starts downloading a file. This is a microsoft issue caused by your machine not having the .NET framework 2 installed and the Microsoft Installer not accepting the version that is on the CD. The solution is to insert the disk and click on explore. Then to double click on the Software directory and then double click on the file 'dotnetfx.exe' or 'dotnetfx'. This will install the framework and then the normal PC Resources Install will work ok.

START UP ISSUE:

After installing the program from the CD, to start the program you need to click Start-> Programs -> Lindisfarne Scriptorium -> PC Resources 1 or 2 depending on your install. We removed the desktop shortcuts from the install after comments in the previous release. We have restored desktop links in the updates shown below.

UNHANDLED EXCEPTION ISSUE:

Some users are finding that an unhandled exception window appears sometimes when clicking on the left hand menu. This has been fixed in the update below.

PC RESOURCES 2 - ADDON 2 LICENSING ISSUE:

Unfortunately there is a problem with the CD version that stops the licensing of ADDON 2 license. Please download the update below to fix this issue.

The update below requires a full installation from the CD-Rom before installing the update. This is because the database of images is only available on the purchased CD-Rom.

UPDATE Instructions:

  • Ensure you have .NET Framework installed. If in doubt, insert the disk and click on explore. Then double click on the Software directory and double click on the file 'dotnetfx.exe' or 'dotnetfx' and follow the instructions on screen.
  • Follow the instructions to install the CD-Rom version.
  • For PC RESOURCES 1 - Download the following file and when prompted select Open or Run. Download SetupPCResources-1-41.msi
  • For PC RESOURCES 2 - Download the following file and when prompted select Open or Run. Download SetupPCResources-2-30.msi
  • Start PC Resources and Register your software if you have not already done so.
  • PLEASE NOTE. IF YOU USE DIAL UP INTERNET THESE ITEMS ARE 6-7MB. Please contact us to request a CD copy if you have difficulties.
