Exploring the Freehand Celtic Knot.

This will give you the opportunity to learn how to do the freehand style of celtic knotwork that Mary has developed in her work over the last decade. After learning the basics there will be an opportunity to learn techniques of embellishment and decoration inspired by the Lindisfarne Gospels and other illuminated manuscripts.

For those who haven't lifted a pencil since school days to experienced artists, this day of two, two hour sessions will give you the techniques for creating the freehand Celtic knots that Mary uses in her artwork. We will also look at ways of using the knot in prayer and meditation.

Creative Prayer

For those wanting to enrich and refresh their prayer life, this day of two, two hour sessions will look at using our five senses to inspire prayer. We will also explore prayer using words, silence, actions and objects.

Inspiration from Anything!

Do you enjoy writing but need some inspiration? Would you like to learn how to be inspired by the ordinary? This day of two, two hour sessions will give you some techniques for gaining inspiration for creative writing.

All Days cost £60 and will be held at Lindisfarne Scriptorium on Holy Island, food is not provided but you are welcome to bring a packed lunch or purchase something from one of the excellent retailers on the Island. Hot and soft drinks will be available. Places are limited to five per day.
