Words:
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Background:
The words are from Joel, chapter 2 verse 32. Each
'vein' carries a name of Jesus and the imagery expresses that He is our
life-blood. This piece was inspired by the story of a very ill woman who was
seeking hope in an apparantly hopeless cycle of illness, when praying for her
this passage from Joel seemed appropriate. I was also inspired by the story in
Matthew about the woman who had been bleeding for many years.
Matthew 9 verses
20-22: Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve
years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to
herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed." Jesus
turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you."
And the woman was healed from that moment.
